MUSIC PROMOTERS BAJJO EVENTS, ABTEX RALLY BUGANDA'S NKOBA ZA MBOGO TO STORM S.AFRICAN HIGH COMMISSION OVER CHAKA CHAKA DEPORTATION
music promoters Andrew Mukasa and Abtex are rallying a group of youth under Buganda Nkoba Za Mbogo to storm the South African High Commission in Kampala to protest the deportation of Anti- Aparthied singer Yvon Chaka Chaka from Uganda on December 31st.
This followed after Police visited the hotel on 31st when Chaka Chaka was making her way out in a convoy and requested to have a discussion with her and her team regarding her visa issues.
The police pointed out to Chaka Chaka and her team that they had credible information that she was about to engage in a commercial activity that would contravene the terms of her tourists Visa and didn't declare the correct purpose of her visit both at the time of applying for the Visa and at the port of entry.
She and her team was requested to stay at the hotel and refrain from the commission of Visa violations but remained angry throughout the discussions and kept shouting at the police officers who, in all fairness remained professional.
The police also insisted they needed a full disclosure of her itenary in order for the force to be able to offer sufficient protection for her team.
Chaka Chaka declined and demanded to be escorted to the airport and declared she was leaving the country.
In her recorded video after returning to South Africa, the singer said she was fine adding that there were a few things she did not understand.
However, some few opportunists have since tried to politically capitalize on the issue in order to claim political persecution of People Power leader Robert Kyagulanyi because the promoters are his friends.
Sources within security agencies have also confirmed that they are following up the matter and are a head of the situation in order to maintain calmness and the intergrity of the South African mission according to international obligations.
Under the Geneva convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961 which Uganda is a signitory, the premises of a foreign mission in a receiving state are inviolable and its the duty of the host country to provide maximum security to the embassies, residence of the ambassadors from any intrusion.
