Switzerland Congratulates President Museveni on Re-election



 

The President of the Swiss Confederation H.E Guy Parmelin has conveyed his message of congratulations to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni upon his re-election as President of the Republic of Uganda.

 

“On behalf of the Swiss Federal Council, I have great pleasure to convey my sincere congratulations on the occasion of your reelection as President of the Republic of Uganda. At the same time, I would like to express my best wishes to you for success in this eminent post, as well as for your personal well-being and the continued prosperity of your country,” President Parmelin said in a message dated May 13, 2021 and sent from Bern, Switzerland.

 

The Federal Council (German: Bundesrat, French: Conseil fédéral, Italian: Consiglio federale, Romansh: Cussegl federal) is the seven-member executive council that constitutes the federal government of the Swiss Confederation and serves as the collective head of state and government of Switzerland. It meets in the west wing of the Bundeshaus in Bern.

 

President Parmelin said in his message that he is confident that the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Switzerland and Uganda will continue to intensify in the future.

President Museveni was declared by the Electoral Commission as the winner of the January 14 elections having defeated 10 other candidates with 58 percent of all valid votes cast.
