Members of Parliament to Censure Ssenyonyi Next

The chairperson of the Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE) committee National Unity Platform (NUP)party spokesperson and member of Parliament for Nakawa West Hon. Joel Ssenyonyi is in hot soup and faces censure should the investigating team find him guilty of misconduct.

The Committee on Rules, Privileges and Discipline is investigating Ssenyonyi after he leaked the committee report on investigations against the CEO of Uganda airlines Ms. Jenifer Bamuturaki to the public before tabling it to parliament.

Hon. Mwine Mpaka the Mbarara city south representative and the chairperson for the committee confirmed that the investigations are ongoing and if found guilty members of parliament are willing to move a motion to have Ssenyonyi censored.

According to Mpaka, Ssenyonyi has also been using his personal social media pages especially Twitter and Facebook to disclose confidential information from the committee and post it on his social media pages before the findings were tabled before parliament.

Ssenyonyi is also being investigated on allegations that he received a huge bribe from yet to be identified staff of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) as he was investigating mismanagement at the authority which he dropped unexpectedly and switched guns to Bamuturaki on what many termed as personal and witch hunt.

If Ssenyonyi is censured, he will be the third member of Parliament to be censured in the 11th Parliament.
