US Afro-American rapper Lil Wayne has revealed his support for Republican party presidential candidate who is also the incumbent USA president Donald Trump.
On Thursday, the 38-year-old, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., tweeted a photo of himself standing next to Trump indicating that he had a great meeting with him which was going to benefit the black community.
“Just had a great meeting with @realdonaldtrump @potus
besides what he’s done so far with criminal reform, the platinum plan is going to give the community real ownership. He listened to what we had to say today and assured he will and can get it done,” Wayne tweeted
Trump's proposed “Platinum Plan” includes creating 3 million jobs in the Black community over the next four years, increasing access to capital by nearly $500 billion and strengthening Trump’s immigration policies to protect American jobs, according to his website.
Another artist, Ice Cube, is also working with Trump on his "Platinum Plan" for Black Americans.
similarly, in Uganda many artists have come out to work with the incumbent President Yoweri kaguta Museveni to retain his seat in the 2021 presidential elections.
The 2020 United States presidential election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, 2020.
Democratic party’s Joe Biden is leading Donald Trump in the national polls for the presidential election.
But that doesn’t guarantee the Democratic candidate victory. Hillary Clinton also had a clear lead over Trump in the polls for almost the entire 2016 campaign. She ended up losing in the electoral college.
Because the presidential voting system assigns each state a number of electoral college votes, which go to the state’s victor regardless of the margin of victory (with the exception of Nebraska and Maine), a handful of swing states will probably decide the election and be targeted heavily by campaigners.
