Update on President Museveni's swearing in
Preparations are in high gear as President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who is also the President elect is set to swear in for another term of office.
The President will be swearing in on Wednesday, May 12 at Kololo independence and according to the Ministry of the Presidency, everything is set for a successful function.
Government has also declared 12th May 2021 a public holiday as President Kaguta Museveni swears in for his sixth elected term of Office. The announcement has this morning been made by Minister of Information and ICT, Judith Nabakoob.
State House May 05, 2021- issued a revised number of presidents expected to grace President Museveni's sixth inauguration ceremony, confirming it to eleven.
''Eleven Heads of State are attending in person and about ten will send high-power delegations,'' Presidential press secretary Lindah Nabusayi said, further adding that ''nine executives of regional organizations'' will attend the function.
Twelve countries, Ms Nabusayi says are represented at the level of Vice President, Prime Ministers and Ministers of Foreign affairs.
The function to be held at Kololo Independence grounds will be restricted to about 4,000 invited guests with limited fanfare.
‘’All invited guests will undergo Covid-19 tests. The National Organizing Committee has done all necessary measures to sit guests in such a manner that there will be proper social distancing,’’ the Minister of the Presidency said.
