Hundreds recover from Covid-19 everyday in Uganda

 


A total of 302 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours according to the latest update from the Ministry of Health. For the passed week, hundreds of Ugandans have been recovering from Covid-19 on a daily basis. 

Cumulatively, 51,004 people have recovered since the virus was first reported in the country.

However, the same report also shows that a total of 289 people were admitted to hospital suffering from COVID-19 in the same period. 

That means Uganda now has 1,286 people who are battling the disease in several health facilities across the country. For starters, there were 997 people in hospital from Friday's update.

A total of 38 people died of COVID-19 in a 24-hour period, bringing cumulative deaths in the country to 868, the ministry revealed. 

However, the COVID-19 positive rate dropped to 11.6 percent, the lowest in the last few weeks. According to the ministry, out of 8,133 people who were tested for COVID-19 on June 24, 2021, a total of 943 were discovered to have the virus in their bodies.
'The cumulative confirmed cases are 77,505,' the ministry said in a statement.

The breakdown of the new cases indicated that Kampala registered 458 infections; Wakiso,118); Luwero, 48; Kisoro, 32; Tororo, 30; Nebbi, 26; Mbarara, 23; Paliisa, 18; Mbale, 19; Kalungu, 16; Lyantonde, 14; Moroto, 14; Kabarole, 13; Mityana, 12; Bududa,12; Kyotera, 11; and Jinja, 11.

Apac had 9; Packwach,8; Kiryandongo, 8; Gulu, 8; Buhweju, 7; Soroti, 9; Kalangala, 1; Sheema, 5; Adjumani, 5; Masaka, 4; Butebo, 4; Luwero, 3; Mukono, 3; Bulambuli, 5; Nakasongola, 2; Busia, 2; Amudat, 2; Kabale, 2; Kamwenge, 2; Kalaki, 1; Bukomansimbi, 1; Kapchorwa, 1; and Kanungu, 1.

Butambala, Kaabong, Gomba, Arua, Hoima, Ntungamo, Buyende and Kasese had one case each.
