Security arrests second shooter in Gen. Katumba attack




Police say they have arrested the second suspected shooter in the assassination attempt of Works and transport minister, Gen Edward Katumba Wamala which left his daughter Brenda Nantogo and driver Haruna Kayondo dead.

The suspect  identified as Kanaabe was allegedly transported by one Walusimbi Kamada alias Mudinka to the scene of crime.

The Uganda Police Spokesman told  reporters that Kanaabe was arrested last night July 12 from his hideout in Luwero.

Upon searching his home, the motorcycle they used to attack general Katumba Wamala has been recovered and another one they were using for surveillance.

Upon interrogation, Kanabe admitted to have participated in various murders and robberies including the murder of Major Kigundu and AIGP Felix Kaweesi.

The first suspected assassin identified as Hussein Lubwama alias Christopher Kinene alias Master was shot dead two weeks ago by security operatives who alleged that he was resisting arrest and highly violent .
