Buchaman surrenders military like attire to Police

Musician Buchaman aka Mark Bugembe has on Tuesday October 20, surrendered to the Police attire he had in his possession  akin to those of the Police and the army.

This follows police's call to all civilians to shun use and possession of military attire.

The Uganda Police force recently  launched an operation against illegal possession of military wear and several National Unity Platform members have fallen victim to it since they insist on using the military wear as thier political party symbol.

Speaking to journalists today,  Buchaman agreed with the security agencies on the issue of illegal use of military attire by civilians. "I support the decision by security agencies to surrender all the clothing's that are similar to uniforms of the armed forces. I have mobilized all these clothing's from the ghetto," he said.

He added that "I appeal to ghetto youths to surrender such attire to the Police station near you. You have 14 days to do this. All those that claim to be Ghetto Presidents must also adhere to this order. You will be arrested should you disobey the directives by government".

The Ghetto President who is also a Presendent's envoy on Ghetto affairs  further said that during the elections, ghettos will be secured against those that intend to protest, break into shops and loot property in the guise of ghetto youths.

Police represented by James Ruhweza, RPC for Kampala South thanked Buchaman for the gesture of handing over the attire to the authorities .

Ruhweza argued the general public to follow Buchaman's example or they will deal with the consequences. "We appeal to those that still possess these uniforms. Please hand them over in peace because failure to do so, we shall confiscate them," Ruhweza said.
