Lumumba thanks the 5million Ugandans who endorsed President Museveni’s 2021 Candidature
The Secretary General for National Resistance Movement (NRM) Rt. Hon. Justine Kasule Lumumba has expressed gratitude to over 5million Ugandans who endorsed NRM’s flag bearer H.E Yoweri Museveni for the 2021 Presidential elections.
On Friday 2nd, October 2020, The National Resistance Movement (NRM) submitted lists of over 5 million signatures of registered voters across the 142 districts of Uganda, to the Independent Electoral Commission supporting the nomination of H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as a presidential candidate.
Speaking at a press conference held on Sunday, Lumumba thanked the millions of Ugandans who endorsed her party’s flag bearer. “I want to take this opportunity to thank all Ugandans who overwhelmingly accepted to pen their Signatures and made this process a success.” she remarked.
The Secretary General also thanked Ugandans for continuing to overwhelmingly support and vote NRM at all levels, a thing she said shows the Massive grassroot support the party enjoys among the population.
She cited the Special Interest Group Elections, where she informed the media that the NRM registered massive wins at Sub County Elections as Follows;
Elderly: - NRM won 9050 out of 10310 positions representing 95%
PWD: NRM won 9002 out 10310 Positions representing 95%
Youth: NRM won 15549 out of 18558 Positions representing 88.3%
