They’re dancing Atoti: Mao laughs at DP bloc members who were denied NUP flag
The President of the Democratic Party (DP), Hon. Norbert Mao has laughed at the DP bloc members who left DP and joined the National Unity Platform (NUP) only to be denied as NUP’s flag bearers in various constituencies.
Speaking at the unveiling of Charles James Senkubuge as DP’s flag bearer in the Kampala Mayor race, Mao ridiculed the DP bloc members that they’re like someone dancing to the early 2000s hit song ‘Atoti’. “They’re moving this way, that way as if they’re dancing ‘Atoti,” Mao said.
This follows DP bloc members who were denied NUP flags, deciding to quit the party they have recently joined from DP and contesting as independents.
Mao added that it is useless to have an army of traitors and that he is happy that most them have left.
The National Unity Platform recruited most of its members from the Democratic Party which has left many people wondering whether it was formed to fight the existing opposition political parties rather than the ruling NRM.
