Ssegirinya anxious after Ssebagala announcing he will leave the Kawempe North MP seat in 2030

The National Unity Platform (NUP) flag bearer for Kawempe north MP seat, Muhamad Ssegirinya has been left hope less after the popular incumbent, Latif Ssebagala declaring that he will leave the seat in 2030.

The two were appearing on NBS TV’s barometer talk show where Ssegerinya urged that Ssebagala has served 4 terms without doing something tangible in addition to how he has spent long time undecided whether to contest as a mayor or an MP.

In response, Ssebagala said he has now made up his mind to serve as an MP for two more terms. This response angered Ssegirinya and made him believe that Ssebagala is only interested in the position to make money and not to serve the constituents.

On the same show, NUP’s Betty Nambooze and Ssebagala mocked Ssegirinya that he is only fit to be a councilor and lacks the seniority to be an MP.

The mocking and demeaning of NUP flag bearers by their fellow party members continues to expose the party as one which was formed to help people gain positions for individual gains rather than causing regime change.
