Bobi Wine Pleading with Oulanyah's Dad for reception |
Over the weekend, the National Unity Platform party leader, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine made an unplanned visit to Northern Uganda to pay tribute, and also condole with the bereaved family of the late Speaker of Parliament, Jacob Oulanyah.
Bobi Wine who is said to have deliberately skipped the burial of Oulanyah on Friday last week to allow him to secure fat allowances from the Geneva meeting rushed to Northern Uganda where he conducted a series of dramatic engagements.
The visit that was first reported by the security soon turned extraneous when the NUP leader found himself in a prominent awkward state after he was shunned by the Acholi Cultural Leader, Rwot David Onen Acana II, and senior Clergymen from the region.
A source within NUP revealed that Bobi Wine never met with the leadership of the Acholi tribal group before heading to Lalogi village in Omoro District where he met his final embarrassing punch from Muze Nathan Okori, the deceased father.
A security source revealed that Bobi Wine had intended to confront security personnel to cause confusion so as to claim undeserving victory, a trick he previously used but was shocked after he was received by the area RDC, Andrew Onyuk.
RDC Onyuk even accompanied him to the home Muze Okori where the late Oulanyah was buried in Lalogi village, Omoro district but soon his disappointment came when mishandled his fortune.
Shockingly enough, Bobi Wine and his NUP team including a section of some Kampala journalists had their egoistic mentality dismantled when security instead offered to guard as opposed to attacking approach.

A“This morning I met Mzee Nathan Okori in Omoro and personally delivered my condolences over the death of his son the late Rt. Honourable Jacob Oulanyah. Thanks to the RDC Onyuk Andrew for the unusual hospitality,” Bobi Wine tweeted.
But RDC Onyuk soon exposed how the NUP leader and his team were chased like chicken thieves by the old man when they turned up in a disorganized and unpleasant manner as if they had not gone to mourn the former speaker.
“The confrontational mentality was surely outwitted by our transformational maturity and seniority. Wisdom! But it was very embarrassing when your team started collecting money in front of our Mzee. That's why he rejected both the 200K & the tiny goat!” RDC Onyuk said.
It’s said when Bobi Wine arrived at the home of late Oulanyah, as usual, his media team from Kampala embarked on a photo-shoot of the homestead even before they could be welcomed by Muze Okori who immediately ordered them to stop.
“When they arrived at the family home, their media team was ordered not to use their gadgets since they had already disrespected the family by taking photos without permission. The Bobi Wine team went totally disorganized and confused. They started whispering to solicit condolences amongst themselves,” A source who attended the meeting narrated.
According to the source, with a great difficulty and challenge, they managed to raise Ugx 200K but soon faced the challenge of securing an envelope where the mabugo cash was to be put.
“As they continued whispering endlessly to themselves, Apap Okori lost his cool temper and ordered them out of his home together with a malnourished, tiny, and sickly looking small-legged he-goat measuring about 2.9 kgs brought by the team as if they were going to appease a village witch doctor,” the source revealed.
The source also quoted Muzee Okori to have questioned Mr Wine whether he was on a mission to appease a village witch doctor and why he never restrained his supporters in Diasporas from demonstrating against late Oulanyah’s medical treatment in the US.
"How much is the money?" Bobi Wine replied, "200K." Mzee mockingly smiled and asked Bobi, "... and you say you're President?" Mzee told him, we need more peace between Acholi and Buganda, therefore we don’t need you here,” Apap Okori said.
According to RDC Onyuk Andrew, the team left the home of Okori Nathan with irrecoverable embarrassment that they had never encountered.
Another source within Gulu City revealed that Bobi Wine later directed his chief bodyguard Eddy Mutwe, to sell the tinny he-goat since they could not carry it back to Kampala.
MP Rev Father Charles Onen of Gulu East urges NUP Party President Robert Kyagulanyi to apologize to the people of Northern Uganda.
