NUP PLAN TO THREATEN MPS LIVES EXPOSED

An ongoing secret plan by the National Unity Platform (NUP) affiliated activists to intimidate members of parliament against supporting the proposed bail law amendment has leaked.

According to an insider at the Kamwokya based NUP party, the leadership and its funders are planning to bankroll its activists into making multiple phone calls to the legislators using anonymous sim cards

A source adds that the strategy is to create a state of fear among the legislators by attacking their personal life on their personal mobile phones, which may stop their support for the president’s position on the bail law.

While holding their meeting on twitter spaces on October 17th 2021, the same group led by a one Aiden Kalisa made plans to find the MPs’ contact list whom they will call multiple times.

Members in the meeting were also tasked by the leaders to identify who will make the phone calls and return with an update in last week.

Their game plan is to give at least each MP one hundred phone calls urging that police would not have the capacity to arrest 10,000 people over the phone calls.

The National Unity Platform leadership has in the past exploited the use of social media to incite the public through posting and sharing fake news leading to loss of lives and property of innocent Ugandans.

As MPs face the challenge of what may be called cyber-attack, the law provides for ways of bringing culprits to book.

Meanwhile as the debate on the bail law remains heated, President Museveni brought it forth after citing irregularities in the law that saw some murder criminals walk free on streets and some being lynched by the public after obtaining quick bail while the aggrieved are still demanding justice.
