A soldier’s Life: Honorable and Exemplary!
During the recent concluded UPDF recruitments, a young man of 26 years old a medical doctor died, in Wakiso after a road test.
One would wonder why this young trained doctor would abandon practicing as a doctor to join the army, to go and experience what some of us would term a difficult life;
Soldiers have to undergo severe training to become fit to fight battles. It becomes exhausting and physically challenging, but they still go on.
To make it worse, they may not get adequate amount of supplies to lead a normal life. Sometimes, the food rationing is low, at they get posted in remote areas without any signal.
They build very comfortable houses, which they may never leave in, or enjoy a warm home cooked meal with their families, enjoy the comfort of the home.
Some return from missions or operations to find their dear loved wives have been taken, impregnated by another man, or bank accounts emptied to zero in case they left wives or other family members in charge.
But each time they are called upon they are ready to serve and embrace the blazing hot or chilling cold, dodge bullets as they at times don’t have enough bulletproof equipment which will keep them safe.
The most important and gallant reason why sons, husbands, fathers, brothers embrace the army with a lot of zeal and love is the love of their motherland.
To serve guard and honor their
country, they don’t step back in the face of adversaries instead they step forward
and face danger head on, a soldier performs his duties as the country sleeps
peacefully.
They are the greatest assets of the
country, guardians of the nation and ever ready protectors, whether in times of
terror, or natural calamities they put the interests of the country above self.Fallen UPDF soldiers being carried by Colleagues
They sacrifice all their happiness for civilians happiness! They buy our peace with their life!
