President Museveni Advises CID Officers to Engage in Wealth Creation, Protect Wealth Creators

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has challenged the middle-level Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) Officers to invest in income generating sectors and protecting wealth creator instead of protecting 'wrong people.'

The President made the remarks on Wednesday 19, October 2022, at Entebbe State House where he was delivering a lecture of opportunities to the officers who had successfully undertaken a one- month ideological course at Kasenyi, Entebbe.

“I delivered a lecture of opportunity to middle-level CID Officers who have been attending a one-month ideological course at Kasenyi, Entebbe,” H.E Museveni said.

“I challenged them to use the existing laws to protect our wealth creators instead of protecting the wrong people,” he added.

During the lecture, the President advised the officers on how they can get actively involved in income generating activities through intensive farming on small pieces of land rather than protecting wrong people.

The President also advised the Officers to ensure that they invest in the five main sectors to generate prosperity such as Commercial Agriculture, Industries, Services, ICT and Public Services.

“You get prosperity by selling goods and services, you cannot get prosperity by begging,” H.E Museveni said.

Museveni also tasked the Officers to teach Wananchi (the public) to appreciate the 4 acre-model to move from poverty and generate wealth.

“Under the 4 acre-model, Wananchi can grow coffee, fruits, food, pasture, rear poultry and pigs,” the President said.

He added that people near wetlands can do fish farming on the edges.

President Museveni advised the officers to ensure they engage in more than one sector in order to have prosperity.

During the occasion, the president also recognized the work of CID boss AIGP Tom Magambo.

“I acknowledge the CID Director AIGP Tom Magambo, for his contribution towards polishing the Officers through refresher courses,” H.E Museveni stated.

CID Officers present included officers from the rank of Senior Superintendents of Police up to Superintendents of Police that included the Deputy Heads of departments and Regional Police Commanders.
