Fellow brothers and sisters of Kyenjojo,it is high time we elected people who are mindful about our demands and passionate about addressing them,here comes our own,Kasami Rogers Mike,"our voice",who is very much ready to serve.The long awaited time is now.Kasami has persued this dream for so many years, but has not given up,which is a clear indicator that he has a strong passion for Kyenjojo."Winners never quit".Been following him up.He is really and epitome of a true leader.We only need to give him chance to explore his ability by entrusting him with the power. He has been on ground for years,giving possible support ,e.g in sports department, he has been giving uniforms,to different teams, sponsoring trophies ,drama groups in a bid to promote talent and self reliance.He's focussed on improving education, health facilities,safe water, electricity, roads,creating job opportunities, etc,through lobbing from all possible corners because he has a strong social network around the country and abroad.His aspirations really match our needs and desires and he's willing to work with all of us to move Mwenge to another developed level.We have always lagged behind and its time to wake up and send vibrant leaders to represent us.Our destiny as Kyenjojo needs such leaders so that we can compete with other developed parts in the country and the world at large.I'm team Kasami Rogers Mike,emanzi yaitu,iraka lya Mwenge South.
First batch of Afghan refugees to arrive in Uganda on Sunday
The Minister of Relief, Disaster Preparedness, and Refugees, Eng Hilary Onek, has confirmed that the first batch of asylum seekers from Afghanistan will arrive in Uganda on Sunday. Onek was appearing on a local radio station talk show when he revealed that the first flight will carry about 140 people. He said subsequent flights will then follow. He said the Afghan nationals will not be treated as refugees since they are in transit to the US. They will not be taken to refugee settlement areas. They will, therefore, be accommodated at various hotels in Entebbe before being processed for their final destination. Early this week, it was revealed that Uganda agreeing to host about 2,000 Afghan nationals at the request of the US. Although they were expected to arrive on Wednesday, the government said modalities were still being worked out before the first batch could land at Entebbe International Airport.
