President Museveni commissions Mubende—Kakumiro—Kibaale—Kagadi road




President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has commissioned the Mubende—Kakumiro—Kibaale—Kagadi road [107Km]. 

The all weather road, will improve access to economic opportunities by reducing transport costs and lower market prices for final products. 

Speaking at the functiion, the President said the road sector is one of the top priorities to cause sustained economic growth and contribute to poverty reduction in Uganda.

The new road offers connectivity to the rich & endowed Greater Bunyoro region with numerous tourism sites including Murchison Falls National Park, Nkusi & Kangombe Forest Reserves, all habitats for unique flora & fauna.

Agriculture being the main economic activity in Mubende, Kakumiro, Kibaale and Kagadi employing over 70%, 80%, 89%70% respectively of the districts population, with the new road, marketable volumes of produce have increased given that farmers are now linked to markets.

Mubende—Kakumiro—Kibaale—Kagadi road will also facilitate Oil & Gas related traffic to the #Albertine Graben via Mubende and offer alternative routes to the Oil fields increasing traffic for all vehicle categories by 25% on the new road

A journey that used to take 03 DAYS from Kagadi to Kampala now takes 03 HOURS!
