NRM Eats Big in Lango sub region as Opposition Leaders Crossover to the Ruling Party
Lango Sub region opposition leaders have left their political parties to join the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) citing disunity, corruption and lack of viable political ideology for the exit from their parties.
The over ten converts left their political parties on Wednesday 30th November 2022, and were received by the NRM Secretary General Richard Todwong. The Lango sub-region leaders were led by Geoffrey Etwop at the party head offices in Nakasero, Kampala.
Todwong thanked the converts for joining NRM, a party where unity, diversity and serving the people of Uganda is paramount.
“Received the converts from Lango sub-region led by Mr. Geofrey Etwop at the NRM headquarters today morning. I continue to thank them for joining the NRM, the party that seeks inclusivity, political diversity and unity to serve the people of Uganda,’’ Todwong tweeted.
During the event, Todwong stated that it is important for all parties to unite in order to serve their people better especially in fighting poverty right from the household level.
James Olobo Obai the MP for Kioga North, thanked Todwong for welcoming the converts into the ruling party and expressed the belief that it will add strength to the region.
He said that the NRM government is committed to developing the Lango sub-region and he thanked the converts for their support in redeveloping the party by enticing other opposition members to join the NRM.The event was attended by the party's Director for the Diaspora, Maj (Rtd) Awich Pollar, Hon. James Olobo Obai, Chairperson of NRM in Amolator district, and other party leaders from Lango sub-region.
