Brig Gen Busizoori Takes Over As Deputy Commander of UPDF 3 Division

Following the recent changes made by the commander in chief of the Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) H.E Gen Museveni, Brig Gen Busizoori has taken over his new office as deputy commander of UPDF 3 division.

General Busizoori officially started executing his duties after the handover function yesterday 10^th August 2022, which was held at the division headquarters in Moroto.

The function was presided over by the commander of the UPDF 3 infantry Division Brig Gen Joseph Balikuddembe.

The former deputy commander 3^rd Division Brig Gen. David Mugisha welcomed the talented officer Brig Gen Busizoori to the 3^rd Division.

 “I warmly welcome you, Gen. Busizoori to the Division. I believe you will add positive energy towards disarmament operations in the Karamoja sub-region,” Gen Mugisha said.

He added that Gen Busizoori is a hardworking and knowledgeable officer who will do the job very well.

Gen. Mugisha who gave high praise to his successor will be replacing him as the SFC commander.

The Division Commander, Gen. Balikudembe in his speech commended President Museveni for his efforts to professionalize the Uganda’s army something which has sustained peace and security for over the years.

According to Joseph Balikuddembe, it’s only the current government under the stewardship and visionary leadership of President Museveni and the professional UPDF that disarmament operations were launched and have registered a number of progressive phases.

He commended the outgoing Deputy Division Commander Brig Gen Mugisha for being a result oriented person something which enabled him register a significant number of achievements in his reign.

“You are reliable, disciplined and a performer. Maintain the same caliber, be our ambassador in your next tour of duty,” he urged.

In his remarks, Brig Gen Busizoori thanked the President and C-I-C for recognizing his contribution towards building a modern, efficient and professional force, which has prompted the current appointment.

“My predecessor has oriented and briefed me. I’m ready to join other Commanders and team players in the operational theater to totally pacify Karamoja Sub region,” Brig Gen Busizoori noted.

The handover ceremony was attended by Brigade, Battalion Commanders and key staff officers of the Division.
